Hey there, I’m Katie! Welcome to my website! I created this blog as a way to share my ideas and inspirations on design, decorating, and life in general. I hope you find some inspiration from my page!
Texas-born and bred, I am a homegrown, small-town girl full of high hopes and big dreams. I am strong in my faith and blessed to be raising 2 beautiful daughters with the love of my life. I have a passion for design and making things beautiful, and I am a sucker for a bargain; my mom always said that I had champagne taste on a beer budget, and it turned out she was right! I’ve been obsessed with creating spaces that are both beautiful AND affordable for as long as I can remember, and I believe that anyone can have a space they love no matter what the budget!
After building our own home I really learned the art of designing on a budget. I was able to get great deals on almost everything we used in our new build, and I found ways to style our home using inexpensive décor. I could not have imagined that my love of decorating would have landed me here, but here I am! I have turned this hobby of mine into a full-blown addiction, and I will be sharing all of my knowledge and ideas here on my blog as well as my Instagram account @thisdesignedhome.
