Fall is here, although you wouldn’t know it here in Texas! It’s still VERY warm outside, so decorating for fall can be a challenge in the 90-degree heat. But alas, a girl can dream of sweater weather and sipping hot cocoa by the fire, while binge-watching Hallmark holiday movies…
Today I’m excited to share my neutral fall home tour with you so you can be Hallmark movie ready too!
I love using a neutral color palette for decorating so I can add a different pop of color from year to year. I’m all about decorating on a budget, so only changing small pieces here and there is a great way to save money and still create a different feel every season.
So here is my neutral fall home tour for this season! I hope it inspires you to do some fall decorating as well!
Living Room Tour
In the living room, I started with the mantle. Pumpkins scream fall, so of course, I have to add pumpkins to anything that will hold them!! Every year I add more pumpkins to my home by scooping up any that I find on clearance at the end of the season. I love the look of white pumpkins, but this year I found a ton of pumpkins in the rust and blush shades that really inspired me to use those as my primary fall decor colors. I already had a bunch of white pumpkins and even some light blue ones that I painted a few seasons ago, so I just blended the blush and rust pumpkins into the mix.
Here I added some faux fall stems in between the pumpkins to give the mantle a more full and lush appearance. Eucalyptus stems in different colors like these or these work great in the fall, but even a garland like this one woven in between the pumpkins would work perfectly!
My sweet husband bought me a Samsung Frame TV for our anniversary this year, so I used this Etsy artwork to display for a more cohesive look. But don’t worry if you don’t have a Frame TV…if you have a smart tv you can actually go to YouTube and search for Frame TV artwork. From there you can select an image you like and it will display like a piece of art – so cool!
I filled this basket with some faux florals like these to add some warmth and texture, and then added these gold and glass lanterns for some glam! Gold and silver tones really add an elegant look and also reflect the light so it makes the space feel brighter. I added in some wooden candle sconces, big chunky candles, and of course, more pumpkins, pull the look together.
Fall florals like these make my heart happy! But, these are not your grandmother’s faux florals…the faux floral market has made a comeback in a BIG way, and I love using these real-looking arrangements throughout the year in all of my decorating. By changing out a few different colors of flower stems you can create a dramatic effect and change the whole look of a room. I used some rust-colored hydrangeas like these in a lot of my floral arrangements this season, and they really pull the color palette together. Adding a tray or substantial decor piece like this beaded wooden tray to display table decor helps keep a clean look while adding style.
I also found some adorable glass pumpkins to add some glam to my side table (Hobby Lobby usually has great ones in the early fall). The white pumpkins and white glass accents pair so well with all of the warm wood tones in my home, keeping it light and bright while still feeling warm and inviting. It’s important to keep a balance of textures so the space doesn’t feel too stark white or too dark and heavy. Marrying the woods and whites helps create an open, yet cozy feeling in this space.
Entry Way Tour
In the entryway, I continued the same theme. If it’s not obvious, I LOVE light shades of blue. I have blue in almost every room in my home in one shade or another. Since I have so much blue in my home year-round, it was important that I find an accent color for fall this season that would compliment the blue tones. The blush and rust colors work beautifully with the blue!
I added some gold lamps and gold candlesticks to tie the look from the other rooms together. Baskets and a faux olive tree add some texture and warmth to the entry. Area rugs are a must for me, and I love this one because it’s so easy to maintain. I can literally take it outside and power wash it and it looks brand new. If you have pets or kids, having an inexpensive rug that is easy to keep clean is a no-brainer!
Breakfast Nook Tour
In the breakfast nook, I carried the same look of faux florals and pumpkins. I used the same style rug here, but in a differenty pattern, making the table and chairs feel complete. I found these metal chairs and added these super plush cushions to make them more comfortable, but they also help soften the space. Believe it or not, even though the rugs and chair cushions are light in color, they stay so clean! I am a firm believer that you can have nice things that don’t cost a lot AND keep them looking great, if you buy the right peices. I have linked both of these items for you if you want to try them out and see for yourself!! They are affordable, well made, easy to keep clean AND survive the wear and tear from my kids and pets…win win!
I also used a burlap table runner to complete the centerpiece and found this great garland to fill in around the vase and pumpkins.
Kitchen Tour
In the kitchen, I found this matching wreath to compliment the table garland. I wanted it to feel a little more feminine so I tied a satin neutral ribbon around the top and let the ends drape naturally, and I hung it using a command hook. I also used more wooden trays to display more pumpkins and candles…did I mention that I love pumpkins?!?! Haha!
The large cutting board I have makes it easy to display my fall kitchen decor on my island. I used a vase of faux florals, a pumpkin lidded soup tureen, and filled a decorative bowl with mini faux pumpkins for some whimsy. I love using beaded garlands to add a little extra texture, so I laid these to look like they just naturally fell here.
The wood and white tones in the kitchen decor match the theme from the rest of my house, pulling the whole space together!
